The CPI is composed primarily of the faculty and graduate students of the Department of Operations and Business Analytics (OBA). Their research consistently appears in leading journals and the faculty have authored several well-known textbooks in management science, statistics, and operations management. Staff members have received professional recognition from teaching, research, and service. In addition, the OBA Department has been recognized as one of the University's 'Centers of Excellence' through the State of Ohio Academic Excellence Program. The only Eminent Scholar Award granted by the State of Ohio within a business college was awarded to the OBA group.

In addition to OBA faculty and graduate students, the CPI may draw upon the resources of associated centers and other faculty as project needs dictate. Associated centers include The Goering Center for Family/Private Business, The Center for Integrated Research Systems, the Executive Education Center, and The College of Business Information Technology Group.
