The Center supports service to the national, state, and local communities through volunteer service to the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program, the Ohio Partnership for Excellence and other professional initiatives.

Dr. Evans has served as an Examiner, Senior Examiner, and Alumni Examiner for the Baldrige National Quality Program from 1994 through 2000. In 2005, he was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce as a member of the Baldrige Panel of Judges for a 3-year term.  He has also served as a Senior Examiner and Examiner Trainer for the Ohio Partnership for Excellence from 1999 through 2002, a member of the Board of Trustees in 2002-2004, and a judge for the Ohio Award for Excellence since 2006; a judge for the U.S. Army Communities of Excellence Award in 2002, a judge for the GCCC Small Business Awards in 2001; and chair of the Panel of Judges for Alaska Performance Excellence in 2009.
