ABOUT THE GOERING CENTER:
Established in 1989, the Goering Center for Family & Private Business is the country's largest university-based educational resource for family and private businesses. The Center's mission is to nurture and educate family and private businesses to drive a vibrant economy. Affiliation with the University of Cincinnati's and the Carl H. Lindner College of Business enables access to a vast resource of business programing and expertise while supporting student engagement and research development. The Goering Center provides its membership real-world insights with the goal to enlighten, strengthen and prolong family business success.
The President & Executive Director ("President") will guide the Goering Center's constituents in executing its mission of nurturing and educating family and private businesses to drive a vibrant economy. This position will be responsible for the fiscal and ongoing viability of the Goering Center. The President will also lead the Board of directors in a collaborative visioning and strategy process. Leadership responsibilities include direction and personal involvement in operations, programs, quality assurance, membership, corporate partner / sponsor relations, and volunteer management. The President & Executive Director will also lead the design and execution of the Center's systems and processes, including retention, recruitment, training and embracing of employees and volunteers.
THE MISSION-CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRESIDENT & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR INCLUDE:
- Serving as the primary "face" of the Goering Center (presentations, Board of Directors, Corporate Partners / Sponsors, NGI Facilitator recruitment and training, volunteers, community);
- Leading and shaping Board strategy development and implementation;
- Leading retention, recruitment, development, engagement and succession of Center staff and 200+ volunteers;
- Serving as the primary relationship with Corporate Partners / Sponsors;
- Partner strategically with the Carl H. Lindner College of Business; and
- Being responsible for the healthy fiscal viability and success of Center.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be an accomplished "A" player who once occupied or currently occupies the C-suite or equivalent and is ready to pursue a "make a difference" role in the Greater Cincinnati region. This individual has a history of elevating organizations through strategic thinking and plan execution. Adept at making key introductions, this innovator has clear and engaging communication skills. This leader's management style is emulated because it instills trust, inspires those working toward a common goal, and builds outside relationships. This proven sound decision maker has a passion for family and private business, demonstrated and measurable business acumen, and the highest level of professional and personal integrity.

At the Goering Center, it is our mission to nurture and educate family and private businesses to drive a vibrant economy. We achieve this by delivering robust programming that fosters collaboration among Tri-State business leaders and exposes family and private company owners and executives to relevant experts and new techniques. We are looking for a Membership Development Manager to join us in adding new members.
The successful candidate will have a passion for developing relationships with local business leaders and helping them navigate the special challenges of family and private businesses. More specifically, we are looking for a person who has:
- 3-4 Years of sales experience, preferably in private industry
- Demonstrated ability to uncover new business opportunities and develop relationships
- Passion for helping business leaders and their families learn, create, and grow
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Proven ability to exceed sales goals
